Projects and new tech
“2016 has been packed with important projects and events at WJ Groundwater’s Qatar base,” reported Overseas Director, Paul Turner.
Over the last six months projects have included:
VVIP Villa at the Pearl Qatar
As the name implies, The Villa was for a ‘Very Very Important Person’ in Doha. The sub contract work involves dewatering for an excavation close to the shoreline of the Arabian Sea. A small yet complex, ‘signature’ project successfully completed by WJ Groundwater for CRC.
The QEZ-01 Project
This project involved dewatering for the manholes and trenches in preparation for the installation of utilities such as storm water, potable, sewerage, electrical and communication lines. Elsewhere, large pipework and pumping equipment was also installed. The project was a joint venture between clients Sacyr and UCC.
Viva Bahriya 08
Viva Bahriya is a beachfront development. 08 is a hotel / condominium in Doha. WJ Groundwater was commissioned for sub contract work involving the dewatering for an excavation for a lift pit. Previously, our teams have successfully dewatered other residential towers at The Pearl including Viva Bahriya 06 and 07 for our client CRC.
- Enabling work for contractor Navayuga Engineering Company WLL at the mixed-use building (4B+G+M+10+T+P) at Old Al Ghanim,
- Installation of an oil separator for the development of airfields at Hamad International Airport for contractor Sixco,
- Infrastructure and landscaping works for contractor Midmac at Lusail City, Doha,
- Enabling works for contractor Navaguya Engineering Company WLL at a five star hotel and luxury apartment building in West Bay, Doha
WJ Groundwater Middle East’s has added a number of high capacity pumps to its complement (pictured) that includes some CD150s, CD300s and a mini-excavator fitted with an auger.
