WJ Groundwater’s Middle East Director, Paul Turner recently attended the excellent UK-Lusail Day event. Taking place on the 1st of March at the Lusail Real Estate Development Company Headquarters the well-atttended meeting was organised by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).
Paul was able to meet with several key decision makers to learn more about the ongoing construction of Lusail City. He was lucky enough to spend some time with the Construction Director of Infrastructure for Lusail too.
“The event is a great way for WJ Groundwater to continue building its strong reputation for quality and reliability in the Middle East region. We have been working in Lusail, have competed work on some large scale infrastructure like parts of the city’s Expressway,” said Paul. “It’s a brilliant way to network with company decision makers and meet fellow contractors. For instance I was sat next to a key director at Carillion during the presentations and I was able to point out each of the projects WJ Groundwater were involved in.”
The order of the presentations were as follows:
– Opening speech from Eng. Essa Mohammed Ali Kaldari, CEO of Lusail Real Estate Development Corporation (LREDC)
-Speech from Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Mr Ajay Sharma
-Speech from Matthew Pencharz, Deputy Mayor of London for Environment and Energy
-Presentation from LREDC about the development of the Lusail City programme and progress
-Thematic break-out sessions. Four rooms, split in to the following themes: FM, Construction, Security, Transport
– Site visit – tour of Lusail
